If you are a noise/grain lover or don’t mind it, you have already several releases.
But, if you are like me, and noise/grain hurt you as much as rubbing sand in your eyes, this release may interest you.
All process were done directly from the japanese Blu-Rays.
Video is denoised.
Subtitles are from the sxales release.

Nice denoising, but I see a lot of artifacts (combing?) for some reason…

I only denoise/degrain, if there was other things on the “master” (the blu-ray), they’ll not be removed.
Do you have precise information : wich file on which exact time position ?
FastFood
To my eyes the artifacts appear to be present in all the TV episodes and (effectively) in most frames. It’s fairly minor in most cases but sometimes very prominent, eg. frame 3524 and 5500 in EP01. I don’t see it in neither the movie nor the OVA. I just thought it was odd because your work I’ve seen in other releases were flawless.

Ok. On frame 3524 i don’t see, but on frame 5500 i think i see what you mean.
Unfortunately, blame the Blu-Ray (or those who made the Blu-Ray master)… :(
It’s like this also on the Blu-Ray source, and as i said, i only work on noise/grain, no others “defaults” the master (Blu-Ray) could have.
Fortunately, the Blu-Ray of my previous releases didn’t have this default, and just hope it will not be in others… Nevertheless, this kind of default shouldn’t happen if it’s realy (re)mastered from film material… I thought it was, but finaly maybe it’s not.

Freaking classic!! I finished this last year :)
Glad this is still getting shares years later.
Definitely a must watch!!!

Ah I see, it was an issue with the source material, not your mistake. That’s unfortunate.

Thanks a lot.

Thank you for keeping the ED in! Lots of other releases don’t include it – I guess it’s an issue with their source.
