I like the idea of two tracks, but I honestly believe an attached pdf that explains cultural references and wordplay is better than creating an unlocalized sub-track. Are you using TL notes on the latter?

There are no actual TL notes. There is a joke editor’s note for one line in the unlocalized track. In the localized track, the line was localized.
