SRLS looks better in the comps. Your encode looks blurry if you focus on the lineart.

why does the size of the ED styling change? (ex. ep 1 and 2) also still some weird linebreaks and the margins are insanely low even for me (I personally like 35-40 but 20 is pushing it a lot)
post a script comp between the original and edited versions of the script

ed in episode 4 is slight mistimed for a couple lines
but the ed in episode 5 is completely off and too big

idk about the ed styling changing, must’ve been an issue with the script i edited (whichever one i got the eds from) because i didn’t mess with the ed at all and didnt notice any issues when watching. my signs are based off sam’s unreleased subs, and my dialogue is based off the NPC subs from hydes’ release, so idk if i can make one diff that encapsulates the whole thing.

my recommendation is to just provide a patch for episode 2 and 5 for now and see whether you find it worth to v2 the entire thing
because there are smaller things that could be fixed across the episodes but the ed’s are the major issue

Is this a joke? I don’t have the JP BD, but I do have the DVD and the video from [Cuck’d] looks like there was some filtering to remove some mpeg2 blocking and then tons of noise dumped onto the DVD. When all the mpeg2 artifacts didn’t quite get cleaned up you can literally see them: https://imgsli.com/MTA1NDgx/2/1 (US BD isn’t perfect, but it has detail where DVD had mpeg2 artifacts, you can compare all 3 with the dropdown)

Yours is undersharpened since your lines are blurry. Imagine thinking you could beat the best, most experienced encoder Yurasyk with minimal experience.

Yurasyk also has better colours.

You can clearly see the BD is a better master in the comps with SRLS (Yurasyk). And the encode by Urotsuki isn’t too brilliant either, he just took the DVD, run some deblocking filters and dumped a shit-load of noise. Yurasyk is clearly the better encode here, I don’t care what the indexes say.

Actually correction: the Urotsuki encode is pretty bad. There’s a lot of source noise left in, there’s artifacts like ringing around lineart. Just mux these subs to Yurasyk.

FYI I’m actually working on fixing all these issues and retiming most of the dialogue.
I’m already done with first two eps and should have the rest finished soon.
