the iTunes artwork is 5000x5000 but it’s clearly a horrible upscale
OTOTOY’s was 1600x1600 and Deezer’s was 1200x1200, both still reek of bad upscale
have an old Python script called GetNative used for anime
- it can’t make heads or tails of the image, probably because the raster lineart was upscaled and had effects applied to it before being upscaled again
➡ crop 1000x1000 from the center, hands/nails
➡ script now decides it’s 142x142 native, but only barely
- i.e. uncropped image was originally 710x710
- I am losing interest at this point, you are too. the song’s probably done downloading go listen to it
➡ nearest neighbor downscale fugly iTunes 5000x5000 to 710x710
try waifu2x before remembering it isn’t 2021 and we have much more advanced AI black magic now
how do I use Photoshop? because now I have 6 different upscales, which are all uniquely “one step forward, one step back”
