Maaba /マーバ almost certainly comes from 魔/Ma and 婆/Ba, meaning Demon Granny/Old Woman/Hag, and is rendered in the official subtitles as “Marba”. We considered changing this over to “Maaba” or “Mahba”, but ultimately decided the ‘ザーボン/Zaabon => Zarbon’ approach of “Marba” was stylistically preferable.
